WordPress web design & developmentWordPress sites you can actually run yourself.

WordPress powers most of the websites we build for service businesses, venues and organisations, because it does everything a growing business needs and you can update it without calling us. We build with Elementor Pro, keep plugins to a minimum, and host and look after it afterwards if you'd like us to.

Be honest…

Sound familiar?

  • "Our theme does things we never asked for and nothing we did."
  • "Every change means waiting on someone."
  • "It's slow, and we've got 40 plugins and no idea why."

What a JAE WordPress build includes.

Pick the cards you need, or let us deal you the right hand. Everything's explained in plain English.

  • Custom design

Your brand, your photos, your voice, built in Elementor Pro so you can edit every page yourself.

  • Lean build

As few plugins as possible, a fast theme and proper caching, so it stays quick as it grows.

  • Structured content

Custom post types and fields for things like shows, retreats, rooms or projects, so adding one is a form, not a page build.

  • Integrations

Ticketing, bookings, CRMs and email tools connected, so nothing is typed twice.

  • SEO-ready

Page titles, structured data, sitemap, redirects and your Google Business Profile linked up at launch.

  • Training and care

A walkthrough of your site, and optional hosting and care at £30 a month so updates and backups are handled.

WordPress, built properly.

WordPress gets a bad name from sites built on heavy multipurpose themes with a plugin for everything. The platform isn't the problem; the build is. Done well, a WordPress site loads fast, passes Core Web Vitals and is easy to edit.

We build with Elementor Pro because clients can use it. Behind that we keep the stack small, use Advanced Custom Fields for anything structured, and write small custom code where a plugin would be overkill. Babbacombe Theatre's site, for example, pulls every show from their Ticketsolve box office automatically; Court House Farm's takes retreat deposits through WooCommerce.

Already on WordPress? We also take on existing sites: speed and security fixes, redesigns within the current site, or just hosting and looking after it.

Babbacombe Theatre's WordPress site reads every show, date and price from their Ticketsolve ticketing system, so the box office team never update the website separately. Searchable by month and genre, fast on phones, and tracked from launch.

WordPress with custom post types and a Ticketsolve integration.

  3. 03Build and testBuilt on a staging site, tested on real phones, checked in PageSpeed.
  4. 04Launch and hand overLive, tracked, redirects in place, and a walkthrough so you can edit it yourself.

Why WordPress rather than Wix or Squarespace?

For a small brochure site, Wix or Squarespace are fine. WordPress wins once you need structured content, integrations, proper SEO control, or a site that's yours rather than rented. If you're on Squarespace and outgrowing it, we've done that move several times.

Do you use Elementor?

Yes, Elementor Pro, because it's the builder most clients find easiest to use. We keep it lean and add custom code where it's cleaner than another plugin.

Can I update the site myself?

Yes. That's the main reason we use WordPress. We'll show you how, and we're on hand if you'd rather we did it.

How much does a WordPress website cost?

Service-business sites are usually a four-figure fixed price, depending on the number of pages and what it needs to do. Integrations and shops cost more. You get a written quote before anything starts.

Can you fix or speed up our existing WordPress site?

Yes. See our hosting and care page: we move sites to our hosting, strip out the clutter and look after them from £30 a month.

Is there a minimum term?

No. Builds are a fixed quote; hosting and care are monthly rolling.

Need a WordPress site that works?

Tell us what the site has to do. We'll come back within 24 hours with an honest view and a fixed quote.
