Platinum Mobility case study: Shopify migration and Google AdsSame ad budget. Over seven times the revenue.
We moved Platinum Mobility's online shop from WordPress to a custom-built Shopify website in 12 weeks, connected it to their eBay store, and took on their Google Ads with exactly the same ad budget. In the period that followed, revenue tracked in GA4 rose 624%.

The results, at a glance.

Who they are
About Platinum Mobility.
Platinum Mobility is a Cambridgeshire business that describes itself as the UK's leading provider of refurbished power wheelchairs, with more than 300 in stock. It also sells mobility scooters, wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs) and accessories.
Every chair is cleaned, serviced and safety-checked by their in-house engineers before it goes to its new owner. They deliver across the UK, with finance, warranty, aftercare, servicing and repairs available. Their view is simple: mobility is freedom, and refurbishing is the more sustainable choice.

The context
Moving shop without dropping sales.
Platinum Mobility sells refurbished power wheelchairs and mobility scooters, delivered across the UK. These tend to be considered purchases, where people compare models and details before they buy.
Their shop ran on WordPress. Changing platform is a big step for any online business, because products, customers and tracking all have to come across cleanly, and search visibility has to survive the move.
What we did.
A custom Shopify build in 12 weeks, eBay integration with order syncing, and Google Ads management on the same budget, with reporting in GA4.
- 1. RebuildA custom Shopify website12 weeks from project start to finished build, with custom Shopify sections designed around browsing, comparing and buying mobility equipment.
- 2. ConnecteBay order syncingWe integrated the new shop with their existing eBay store, with orders synced between the two to cut down the admin of keeping both up to date.
- 3. AdvertiseGoogle Ads managementWe took on their Google Ads, with the same budget as before.
- 4. MeasureReporting in GA4Sales, key events and traffic sources reported in GA4, which is where every number here comes from.
More visitors, and more of them buying.
Engaged sessions rose 160%. At the same time the key event rate, the share of sessions that included a key action such as a purchase, went from 1.43% to 3.8%. So the extra traffic wasn't just browsing: far more of it turned into results.
GA4, drawn to scale.
Where the growth came from
Organic search became a sales channel.
The biggest jump came from unpaid Google results: organic search revenue rose 1,174% and organic engaged sessions 70%. With the Google Ads budget unchanged, revenue from Google's cross-network campaigns (such as Performance Max, which run across Search, Shopping, YouTube and more) rose 921%.
| Organic search revenue | +1,174% |
|---|---|
| Organic engaged sessions | +70% |
| Cross-network revenue Google campaigns that run across several networks | +921% |
| Paid search revenue No revenue was tracked from paid search before, so there's no percentage to show | New |
| Google Ads budget Unchanged between the two periods | Same |
Why it matters.
Revenue is the number that matters most to an online shop, and here it grew far faster than traffic. The same ad budget is doing much more, organic search now brings in sales it didn't before, and syncing eBay orders means less time spent on admin.
About these numbers: All figures come from Platinum Mobility's GA4 property, 9 Nov 2025 – 24 Sep 2026, compared with 22 Dec 2024 – 6 Nov 2025 (two periods of the same length). The period covers the new Shopify website and the start of our Google Ads management, so the results reflect both together, not either one alone. Tracking moved to the new platform too, so some of the change may come from more complete measurement as well as more sales. GA4 revenue is what GA4 recorded; it isn't an accounting figure and doesn't show profit.

How long did the move to Shopify take?
12 weeks from project start to a finished build, including the custom Shopify sections and the eBay integration. Smaller shops can be quicker; we agree a timeline with you before we start.
Can Shopify work alongside an eBay store?
Yes. For Platinum Mobility we connected the new Shopify store to their existing eBay store with order syncing, so the team spends less time keying orders and keeping two systems in step.
Will moving platform hurt my Google rankings?
It can if it's rushed. We map every old URL to its new page with permanent redirects, carry over titles and descriptions, and set up tracking before launch, so search visibility and reporting carry on.
Did the ad budget really stay the same?
Yes. The Google Ads budget was the same in both periods, which is why we show it next to the results.
